The Tale Behind the Shirt

  People tell me to shut up sometimes. Not outright but in their manner. I can tell they’ve had enough of my yammering, and yet I keep on going on and on, a million miles a minute, words spilling out of my mouth like hourglass sand.

   I don’t know why or even how I keep on going, I just can’t seem to shut up! I go on and on about everything and anything everyone and anyone. Sometimes I don’t even know what I’m saying. Did I say the right thing? Did I say something wrong? It does’t seem to matter to me I just keep going and going and no one ever stops me, they stand there and politely take it, I don’t know why they take it maybe they think I’m some kind of a nut bag and they’re humouring me - me the nut bag.

   When I see they’ve reached their limit and are ready to burst from the sound of my voice, I move on to the next person and chew their ear off until I once again turn into a nut bag right before their eyes. I just can’t help myself, I know I’m talking so much, too much! And the thing is, I have nothing to say. Nothing at all. It’s just that Silence is too scary.
